Sunshine Home in Bangalore, Karnataka, is for orphaned and abandoned children. Our mission is to provide them a safe, loving, nurturing environment where they can grow and thrive. We also offer them education, health care, counseling and vocational training to help them become independent and productive members of society.
We’re hiring a Home Director to oversee daily operations, manage staff and volunteers, coordinate with donors and partners, and ensure top-quality care for our children. The candidate should be willing to work as a Dean for one year, during which time they will receive adequate training.
Requirements
– A bachelor’s degree or higher in social work or related
– At least five years of experience working with children in a residential setting in India
– A strong understanding of child protection, trauma-informed care and positive discipline
– Excellent communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
– A high level of cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity
– A willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
– Planning, implementing and evaluating the programs and activities of the home
– Supervising, training and mentoring the staff and volunteers
– Ensuring the safety, well-being and development of the children
– Maintaining the records, reports and budgets of the home
– Developing and maintaining relationships with donors, partners, government agencies
– Representing the organization in public events and media
– Handling any emergencies or crises that may arise
