Northeast India Union Conducts Its First-Ever Planned Giving and Trust Services Advisory

News March 14, 2023

The first-ever Planned Giving and Trust Services Advisory was conducted by Northeast India Union under the leadership of Pastor Kantharaj George from February 27-28, 2023, at Shillong, Meghalaya.  There were approximately 35 delegates attending from all over Northeast India Union field.

Have you ever thought of how you can extend God’s kingdom from generation to generation and for future generations? Did you know you can impact God’s work long after your journey on earth has ended? Would you want to?

Planned Giving To Continue God’s Work

If you have, then Planned Giving and Trust Services can help.  This is a unique specialized ministry of the church that gives opportunity to individuals and families to support God’s work through wills, trusts, and other assets as gifts.  It is a unique mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, to provide useful financial, estate, and gift-planning information—with special sensitivity to our faith.

A key learning was that a Christian must not neglect to return to the Lord the material possessions that He has loaned to us in this life back to Him when our time on earth has ended.

The Adventist church encourages each member to systematically plan one’s financial resources to meet the family’s needs and contribute to God’s work. The Adventist church has a way to help you.

Mission Impact Fund

The delegates also learned about the “Mission Impact Fund” which primarily focuses on allocating financial resources to support “I Will Go” initiatives to reach the unreached for Christ.  A particular preference is given to projects administered by local churches for “I Will Go” initiatives. The source of funding for the “Mission Impact Fund” primarily comes from unrestricted maturities of planned gifts from church members.

Life is all about changes and transitions, so planning our giving is of vital importance.

The delegates agreed that this advisory was an eye-opener. Most were unaware of this aspect of planned giving through assets and wills.  It was informative and showed us how every church member can effectively help manage the resources God entrusts to them and support His work even after they pass away.

I would like to express gratitude to Elder Dennis Carlson and Mr. Kantharaj George for conducting this advisory and for their valuable and informative presentations.
